    EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

    • Home Relief provides casual/part-time employment for the following categories of health care workers:
      • RNs
      • RPNs
      • PSWs
    • Hours cannot be guaranteed, as client needs and circumstances can change.
    • All work is considered part-time, as hours cannot be guaranteed, but many staff work regular and even full-time hours, depending on availability.
    • Work is assigned according to staff availability and desired hours and days.
    • No minimum hours of availability required.
    • It is not held against staff for not being available when called, but commitment to shifts accepted is expected.

    • Hours of work range from a minimum of 3 hours to 8 or 12 hour shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, according to availability.
    • Staff assignments include the following:
      • Floor duty in nursing homes.
      • Staff relief in group homes and apartments for the disabled.
      • Outreach bookings with the disabled in the community.

    EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:

    • Office Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
    • Outside of office hours, we have on-call co-ordinators to respond to calls.
    • We do not call our staff between 12 midnight and 5am, and ask that our staff and clients do not call between those hours - unless its an emergency.
    • All scheduling is done through the office, and there are no reports to fill in.

    NOTE: Assignments and hours are recorded on our schedules
    and verified with clients weekly. These schedules are used for payroll
    and invoicing.

    • We place authority and control over workplace risks in the hands of those of you that are in the setting.

    IF YOU ASSESS SOMETHING TO BE A RISK - DON'T TAKE IT!
    ALTER THE CARE PLAN.

    • Proper foot wear is to be worn at all times (rubber soled, closed toed).
    • Name tags provided are worn when on-duty.
    • Pay day is every 2nd Wednesday.
    • The pay period includes two weeks, from a Saturday Day shift to the Friday night shift immediately preceding pay day.
    • Pay cheques can be picked up, mailed, or directly deposited.
